What if I told you that I can connect Ozzy Osborne, Megamind, and reaching your target audience?
I know what you are thinking because I have thought about it too! Does it go something like this, “Madyson, that is a big freaking stretch?” But, hear me out! I promise that it is not!
Before you decide to peace out, give me a chance to explain.
I am going to share my favorite scenes of all time. I mean, we are talking about a scene that shaped every aspect of my 25-year-old soul. Maybe you won’t find it as funny as I do. But, please know that as I write this, I am literally chuckling to myself.
See what I mean? COMEDIC GOLD THAT WILL GET STUCK RIGHT IN YOUR HEAD. Just me? Okay.. maybe. But, can we talk about that for a minute or two?! Because that is what connects all of my far-fetched dots.
I watched Megamind as soon as it came out in 2010. To this day, I cannot hear the lyrics, “Going off the rails on a crazy train” without adding the word, “SIR” to the end of it. I have tried, and I seriously cannot make it happen.
No matter what I am doing or where I am, once I hear that song, I immediately want to watch the movie.
See where I am going with this?
It is okay if you don’t understand why I find that Megamind clip so funny, that is okay! Dan, my husband and MCC team member doesn’t either. The Megamind bigwigs didn’t create the movie with your personality type in mind!
SO, HOW DOES THIS EXAMPLE AND YOUR COPYWRITING GO HAND IN HAND?
When you write copy content for your creative business, it is important to reach your target audience. If you aren’t capturing their attention, I hate to break it to you, but your business isn’t going to stand the test of time.
Your content should have the same “UMPH” factor for your viewers that Megamind’s, “GOING OFF THE RAILS ON A CRAZY TRAIN, SIR,” did for me!
Your target audience, you aren’t aware, are those individuals/businesses you are wanting to serve. But, how do you find those people?! There is a rhyme and a reason for things. I promise that knowing those people will really make a huge difference in your “SELLING.”

If you are just posting content in hopes to attract everyone under the sun, I promise your results are going to suffer.
For example, I am a mountain lover. Adventure is my thing. When you go to my pages, there is no doubt that Madyson Clark Creative is for the 20 – 35-year-old creative who turns to the mountains for inspiration. My marketing content attracts those people, as it should since those are the types of businesses I want to work with.
In terms of Megamind, you may not get the humor behind it. Which, is okay! Like I said earlier, you aren’t meant to! The writers and directors had a very niched market behind it. Granted, it was mainly geared toward children… but to each their own.
Once you know who you are talking to, the next step when reaching your target audience is creating memorable content that will keep them coming back.
Did you know that there are roughly 2.5 quintillion bytes of content being uploaded every single day?
Although we don’t consume all of that during our daily scrolling, the internet-based society that we are a part of forces us to intake quite a bit of it. And, each byte of content is being posted by someone. It may seem like it doesn’t matter what you post because there’s so much being posted alongside yours.
However, it is quite the opposite.
Since we already used my business as the guinea pig, let’s do it again.

Instead, I have elopement photographers, outdoor brands, etc. spending their time viewing the things that I post.
If I am not creating that captivating content, there are plenty of other adventurous businesses that they could be spending their hard-earned time engaging with.
I hate to break it to you, but it is time to create the “Megamind”-esque content.
