Okay, you heard your business friend talk about hiring a copywriter and now your interest is peaked. First of all, that’s a big deal!
Once you enter the world of copywriting, your business is going to be changed for the better! Trust me, it’s like the holy grail. Secondly, knowing whether or not your next step in your business is hiring a copywriter is a big deal.
Let’s get into it, shall we?!
When you are thinking about hiring a copywriter, you need to be aware of what that concept entails.
According to a job description written on Indeed, “Copywriters… are responsible for producing engaging, clear text for different advertising channels.” Honestly, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
There is a misconception that your average writer and copywriters are the same. I hate to be the one to break it to you, but that just isn’t the case. Although they both may have an obsession with grammar and words, their text’s makeup just isn’t the same.
You see, copywriters go hand in hand with business. Copywriters create WRITTEN content that’s overarching purpose is to increase brand awareness while convincing target audience’s that they cannot live without the product/service that is being marketed.
You are a hard worker and extremely capable. I mean it! Your business wouldn’t be nearly as successful if you were!
QUICK FACT: 20% of businesses fail within two years! If you have made it this far, you deserve all of the praise! Your hard work has paid off, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed!
So, here is the thing! You get to the point in your business where you just can’t do it by yourself anymore. Whether it is because you are stretched too thin, or you just don’t have the skills to scale your business any further… YOU NEED HELP.
Sometimes, when you own a business, it is easy to drown in all of the things surrounding your business. You think you know what your business needs, but you just can’t quite articulate them. As a result, your business’ marketing strategies are constantly failing. When it comes down to it, you are just too close.
As a copywriter myself, I work mostly with elopement creatives and outdoor brands. However, this reason fits with every business. There just isn’t enough time in the day to not only write the copy needed for your business but to learn the ever-changing trends within your industry.
When I was in college for Communications, we learned a lot about right-brained vs. left-brained people. Most writers are right-brained. If you don’t fall into that category, THAT IS OKAY. Writing just isn’t your thing, and you shouldn’t be ashamed! There are people who THRIVE when writing, and they just so happen to be the ones to consider when hiring a copywriter!
SEO, Search Engine Optimization, “is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines. SEO targets unpaid traffic rather than direct traffic or paid traffic.” In order to grow your business through Google, you need people to find you. Copywriters are trained to best optimize your copy so that you will be found.
Don’t get me wrong, I am a big believer in taking a page from Robert Frost’s book of life. You know, “I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference,” and all of that jazz… However, gauging the room can be extremely beneficial when hiring a copywriter. Not only that, but you also can get recommendations from those you trust most.
Your candle is burning at all ends. Before you became a business owner, you thought candles only had one wick running vertically. After becoming one you learned that they actually have 5 billion running each and every way possible. Honestly, you just can’t keep up anymore. It is important to be consistent and when you have all tabs open, it’s hard to figure out where the music is coming from.
The thing with business is that you have to continue to update aspects of your business in order to remain successful in the long run. Dormancy becomes mundane, and it slowly will hurt your chances of making it. Let copywriters help you continue to grow.
A business without a marketing strategy is like a car without gas. You can try to drive it all you want, but it isn’t going to move anywhere. If you aren’t finding new leads with your current strategy, it could be time to take your business to the gas station (a copywriter in this case). They may just be better equipped to get you up and running.
